And Now We Have Color

It was an absolutely crazy month of June. I am talking about gardening not World Cup Soccer. Several hundred flats of annuals (lots of petunias) and several hundred perennials were all frantically planted so the gardens would be perfect for the 4th of July also known as Judgement Day for gardeners in the Vail Valley. The animals could care less that our jobs are on the line and proceeded to eat the flowers as quickly as we planted them. Voles, rabbits, chipmunks, gophers, deer…you name it and they ate it. We did not get a drop of rain in June which made for even more fun. So we replanted, battled the animals and mercifully got some rain this week. And now we have color. And after a month of second guessing my profession I am enjoying the gardens we have worked so diligently on. The gardens and flower pots are finally doing their thing and all is good today in the world of gardening.gc17

Your flowers look just gorgeous and we’re so proud of you! We had a great visit with Emily and plan to go to CCV with the girls after the game tomorrow.i think a t storm is due around 3. Think H and A will want to all go out on Tues or Wed,but I told Emily that she is the princess this week and gets to make all the decisions!
