The Art of the Dinner Party – Part 1
I love a great dinner party and I truly believe there is an art to hosting one. Good food, fine wine and of course excellent company are important but let’s get into the nitty gritty. I am starting with my biggest number one issue-lighting! We all want to feel beautiful and nothing kills a mood or a look faster than bright white lights. Ugh. It is simple. Turn down the lights as low as you can and light candles (not scented don’t get me started). Soft glowing light makes anyone and everyone feel beautiful. Dimmers on lights are crucial. Under cabinet lighting helps you see what you preparing without having to turn on harsh kitchen lights. Get the evening off to the right start with low lighting and make your guests feel and look beautiful. The dinner party should really be all about your guests.
