Having a colorful garden all summer long usually requires at least a few annuals. This can be big sweeps of annuals or just a few tucked in here and there. Annuals give the garden pops of color and and help with the wow factor. While annuals can be an exciting addition to any garden they do require a little extra love in order to look good. We fertilize regularly which is super important with annuals as is deadheading.

This is certainly a wow in terms of color and work. Big sweeps of cosmos, red salvia, yellow chrysanthemums and pink wave petunias require weekly deadheading, slug removal by hand and fertilizing.

Pink wave petunias, dianthus and yellow rudbeckia brighten this small perennial garden. Chipmunks and squirrels like to munch on the petunias but luckily the petunias have still thrived.

This entry consists of all annuals and the goal was to create a big impact. Cosmos, orange calendula, snapdragons and assorted petunias take center stage.

I tucked a few cosmos into my own garden for a splash of color. Cosmos mix in nicely with perennials and they look more like a wildflower to me.

This client wanted “pop”. Pink petunias and big orange marigolds along the driveway of this perennial bed give the client pop and color.

We were asked for lots of variety in this bed and it worked really well. Geraniums, zinnia, marigolds, petunias, salvia and rudbeckia make for a pleasing combination. Very happy with this little bed.

Amazing! Love your work!!
Those flower beds are fabulous. What a profusion of color, texture and imagination. Good work!
Pictures are gorgeous!!!!!! Wish you were my gardener! You’re too talented to quit. Plus you’d probably go nuts from lack of something to do! If you have any thoughts on how we can get the soccer game on TV let us know!
